Welcome Letter to Pediatric Day Rotators
Dear Pediatrics Resident,
You are scheduled for a pediatric anesthesia day this month. I would like to welcome you and give you some information that may make your transition in the operating room a little smoother.
Most of you will likely be rotating in the CCC operating rooms. The OR's are located on the 7th floor. Proceed to front OR desk and ask the secretary/nursing staff there if they can give you your OR assignment. If there is no assignment, please request to speak with the GOAT (anesthesiologist in charge). If anyone has any questions, they can contact me.
On the day of surgery, please arrive to your assigned location at 0700 if not a little earlier. This will afford you some time to meet with your attending and allows you to be present for the preoperative visit. Please come to the OR's in scrub attire.
I ask you to inform me of any schedule changes, back up shifts, or post call times so that I am aware that you will not be present in the OR. Anytime you are absent without previous notice, I do contact your chief residents to verify any changes in your schedule.
We are excited to have you and hope you find this to be a fruitful experience.
PS. I coordinate this rotation for all of the pediatric residents. Please call me with concerns/questions.
